ORC - Week 2

Welcome back family to week 2 of 2024's Fall One Room Challenge. This week starts with demo (no not really) but a sort of deconstruction phase. Clearing the space completely to start fresh. Prior to this phase, I took note of all my needs that weren't previously addressed like places for carpet samples, fabric samples, wood samples, cabinet samples, tile samples, stone samples & so-on. Products I'm using to help with storage & organization, I will share in week 3 after the products have arrived.

I did paint swatches on the wall & fell in love with Sherwin Williams SW 6194 Basil. It's the perfect shade of green that works with my Jardin Japones wallpaper.

To save on cost, I decided to add wallpaper to the upper portion on one wall & add inexpensive molding below painted in the wall color.

It will be a dramatic outcome but not a budget buster (wallpaper was $134.00 USD a roll & we needed 2 rolls).

Another Consideration...

is the finish of the paint. I decided to use a matte vs eggshell which has been my go-to for walls. But this time to create the moody vibe I desired; a matte finish fit the bill.

| Rug | Wallpaper |

My favorite item by far is my new rug but a close 2nd is the gorgeous wallpaper that sings in harmony with it.

As an Interior Designer, I've always loved wallpaper. They bring texture, depth, & interest than just paint along. The best thing about wallpaper companies, most will send you a sample for a small fee prior to ordering an entire roll. They also have great estimators to help calculate how much paper you need for your space. So, don't be afraid to add some beautiful wallpaper, it will change your life!

The Foundation
